Born 1964 in Cornwall, John Brenton B.A.(hons.) has dedicated his painting life to capturing the beauty and drama of coastline and countryside. Often to be found battling the elements ‘en plein air’ whether it be on a Cornish cliff edge or in a tranquil Cotswold river valley his paintings possess a vibrancy and energy that can transport you to those evocative locations.
John has established himself as a leading contemporary land and seascape artist. Over the past 20 years he has held regular solo exhibitions throughout the UK, including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and the Royal Society of British Artists Exhibition. His paintings are now collected worldwide.
Predominantly working in oils, John employs a technique that uses both palette knife and brush resulting in a richly textured, vibrant style that he has become renowned for.
