In 2015 a young artist from Fife named Nerine Tassie was awarded Sky Arts Artist of the year. This inspirational and highly original artist continues to move from ‘strength to strength’ and in consequence her recent exhibitions have been a complete sell-out. We were honored when she accepted an invitation to join us as one of our artist and are very proud to hang her work here at Lympstone Manor.
Nerine gained her degree in Fine Art at Edinburgh University in 2012. Natural spaces and forms provide the basis and inspiration for her work, in particular the coastal waters and woodlands around her home. The ever changing sometimes daunting nature of the surrounding landscape is captured in the mystical, ethereal quality of her work. Her paintings are primarily an exploration of the mystery of nature within this subject matter and she says she has always sought to create a strong sense of atmosphere and connection to place within her work.
