Lympstone Manor, including all guestrooms is decorated with specially commissioned artwork by talented local artist Rachel Toll. Her inspiration comes from the surrounding wildlife, landscapes and coasts of Devon and Cornwall. She has created a series of beautiful paintings and designed two bespoke wallpapers illustrating the birds of the Exe Estuary especially for the hotel.
Since her move to Devon in 2001, Rachel has established herself as one of the West Country’s leading wildlife water colourists. She has developed a highly individual style without formal training. By using minimal brushstrokes placed with careful precision she expertly captures the delicate nature of the plant and bird life she observes on her daily walks through the Devon countryside.
As you spend time luxuriating in the wonderful hotel surroundings, we hope you will find a few moments to appreciate the unique quality of Rachel’s creations.
